The recent nuptials of Britain’s Got Talent presenter Ant McPartlin and bride Anne-Marie Corbett signalled that weddings are back and more glamorous than ever.
Dressed in a £15,000 bespoke gown, the new Mrs McPartlin looked stunning as she emerged from the church through a lavish decorative floral arch before leaving for star-studded reception with guests including Phil Schofield, Christine and Frank Lampard, Dermot O’Leary, Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty, Stephen Mulhern and of course Dec Donnelly.
It was reported that an Abba tribute band and a barbershop quartet provided entertainment, and centre stage was a three-tiered cake which including miniature figures of the couple’s dogs!
After so long in lockdown, many couples across the UK are now ready to party – and with so much time to plan many are really going for it!
Margaret McIntosh, Alona Events Manager, said: “People who come to see us are full of ideas and know exactly what they want – time is often the biggest issue for couples when planning a wedding but that certainly hasn’t been the case over the last year and a half. Everything down to the favours, band and floral decorations on the tables has already been thought about.
“The pandemic has brought home to so many people that life is short and how important it is to make great memories and they just want to make sure they have the best day possible for their budget – regardless if they have 20 people or 200.
“People want to celebrate the things that matter most in life – love, family and friends.”
Tapping into the new adventurous spirit, The Alona Hotel has launched a novel new mode of transport for brides and grooms marrying in the hotel.
Channelling a Bond movie, the groom and best man, or the bride and bridesmaids can now arrive at the hotel for the wedding ceremony in a speed boat.
And with a country park and a theme park next door, there are no shortage of amazing photo opportunities for the bridal party.
